Brian has a record of achieving results for education. As a legislator, Brian helped push for measures that decreased class size, decentralized decision making and tripled the repair budget to fix schools so that they would be safe and secure for our children. As Lieutenant Governor, he would use his energy and problem-solving skills to make public education better for our children.

Renewable Energy

For over a decade, Brian has been one of the most forceful and effective advocates for renewable energy in Hawaii.

 

He authored the renewal energy tax credit for solar water heaters, was a major driver in passing a law allowing the use of net energy metering and helped push Hawaii's first renewable portfolio standards.
